I want to reiterate that you are not limited to using one type of prompt and one type only in your remixes. You may remix the story as you like, provided the prompt you're filling is at the forefront of the story. To use the example for Prompt Nineteen, if you are retelling a romance as a noir detective story, you may also change the person from third to first, the tense from present to past, and use flashbacks. As long as your main emphasis is still be on the genre change, you're good.

I'd like to thank the following people who offered ideas for prompts and/or let me bounce ideas off them. If I've left you out, my apologies; feel free to correct met.

Question:

The original fic i'm remixing is an AU of canon. (As tagged by author.) I'm remixing by adding another layer of AU unto it. The secondary AU is not one that appears explicitly on the prompt list.

It seems to me that this does not go under any of the prompt: it's not turning canon to AU, AU to canon or one AU into the other, and the remix AU is not one that explicitly appears on the prompt list, e.g. agebending.

It seems to me that this just might fall under #28 (other), but i'd rather check first. (Amusingly, I intended this as canon-to-AU, and it took me a while to get what was going on.)

I've no problem clarifying a bit more, i.e. the nature of the original and remixed AUs. I'd just rather do it in a screened/anon/post-and-delete comment, so as to not give away anything before posting.

Thanks!

Not-a-mod, but that sounds like prompt 21 (remix one AU into another AU) to me.

A mod can clarify if I'm incorrect.

Ahah, but that prompt is described as switching one AU for the other, whereas I kept the original AU characteristics and added a second layer.

That story's since posted, anyway. I can always change the tags if a mod decides to make a different call *shrug*.

Do the prompts have to be written in order?
